I am delighted that teachers will be given priority access to the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine. And my children will be delighted at the prospect of going back to school in-person in 2021. However, my wife and I are concerned that children will innocently and inadvertently become infected by their peers at school, and then bring the virus home where they will infect unvaccinated siblings, parents, grandparents etc. The school district should speak to this legitimate concern since, as a parent who has survived ~9 month of the SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19 pandemic, it would be a tragedy if I or my wife was to become seriously ill or die through the consequences my children returning to school in 2021.
